Job overview
We are looking for reliable, conscientious and practical applicants to join our large team of staff working in busy departments, providing an efficient pharmacy service.
The successful candidates will undertake duties across all sites within the trust, including, but not exclusively, stores, distribution, ward top-up, and dispensing services.
Main duties of the job
An NVQ2/BTEC level 2 in Pharmacy Services is not essential as full training to attain this qualification will be given .
Applicants should, preferably, have a full clean driving license, as they will be required to undertake a driving assessment to allow the use of Trust transport when delivering drugs around the trust sites
All staff participate in evening, weekend and the Bank Holiday working arrangements of the department
We offer a range of flexible working (most staff work full time hours over 4 days) but to meet the changing needs of the service, the duties and working times attached to this post may be subject to reasonable change in the future.

Essential criteria
- Level 2 NVQ in pharmacy services
- 4 GCSE’s or equivalent in grade 4/C or above in English, maths, and 2 others.
- Sufficient capability to complete Pharmacy training programmes required for the post and be completed within a maximum of 12 months
- Ability to carry out instruction and recall.
Desirable criteria
- Basic Computer literacy
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a hospital or community pharmacy for those with a pharmacy qualification
- For those without a pharmacy qualification:- Healthcare, dispensing, shop, supermarket or warehousing experience.
- Understanding of when to seek advice and refer to senior professionals
Desirable criteria
- Experience of team working.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
