Job overview
Band 5/6 Radiographers, to support Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC)
We have an opportunity for flexible, enthusiastic, motivated Radiographers to join our friendly dedicated teams of CT Radiographers.
We are looking for pioneering and innovative CT Radiographers who are keen to experience delivering a varied workload.
- Are you able to work with the high pressures endemic in the modern NHS?
- Do you enjoy finding solutions and working in new and different ways?
If so we have an exciting opportunity for Radiographers to join our team at either Band 5 or Band 6 level depending on experience.
This is to support the expansion of the CT service with the additional scanning capacity at the Hull Community Diagnostic Hub, recently opened in the city centre of Hull.
The Hub is be equipped with two Canon Serve SP CT scanners utilising the latest Instinx interface.
Emergency cover for contrast reactions at the CDC will be Radiographer led. Radiographers working at the CDC are trained to ILS level (training will be provided) and independently administer contrast media without medical supervision.
HUTH have a Radiographer progression scheme which enables progression from Band 5 to 6 on successful completion.
Main duties of the job
The service you provide will support the delivery of CT capacity for the whole of the trust across all specialities which includes Neuro, Body, Ortho, Vascular and Research imaging services
The successful candidate will be expected to perform duties at all HUTH sites. (Castle Hill and Hull Royal Infirmary, and CDC).
It is expected that the successful candidates will contribute towards the 7 day service. The department at Hull Royal Infirmary operates a 24 hours CT service with a night duty shift system. Castle Hill currently operates 7 days with off site on-call for out of hours, and bank holidays. CDC will operate a 7 day extended hour service
In addition to the CDC the CT department has 5 CT scanners: - (1 x Canon Aquilion Prime, 1 x Canon Aquilion One Genesis, 1 x Siemens Edge plus, 1 x Siemens X.cite scanner and 1 x Siemens Go Top).
The department is committed to the continuing education of our Radiographers. CPD is actively encouraged and supported with the Radiology department running a number of educational events throughout the year, and Radiographers are encouraged to study for Post graduate qualifications. The department currently has Radiographers reporting CTC examinations.
