Job overview

The Maxillofacial outpatients department has an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic nurse associate to join a progressive dynamic team of Nursing and Registered Dental Nursing staff.

As a Nurse Associate, the post holder will be engaged in duties of a specialist nature providing the highest level of care throughout a wide range of different interventions within the maxillofacial specialty. This includes combined clinics to facilitate patients surgical treatment and care. The Nurse Associate role also includes nurse led clinics, pre-assessment and to assist the surgeons with local anesthetic  procedures, they will also be expected to work cross site in our trauma clinic. 

Main duties of the job

The Nursing  Associate  will work as part of the Nursing  workforce supporting Registered and Non registered Nurses to deliver high quality, person centered, compassionate care to patients.

They will be part of a multi-disciplinary  team, delivering care and treatment to patients working with standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing Midwifery Council and in accordance with trust policies protocols and guidelines.

The Nurse Associate will demonstrate excellent work ethics and act professional with a positive problem solving approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

The Nurse Associate is required to have willingness to develop evidence based practice and with supervision you will develop the knowledge of head and neck cancer within the maxillofacial specialty.  As well as achieving skills in emotional and psychological support during challenging circumstances.

The Nurse Associate will demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support and guidance to less experienced staff within the clinical environment as needed and to delegate care if appropriate.
