Hull 0–19 Integrated Public Health Nursing Service - Administration Team Lead apprenticeship.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled, passionate, and motivated individual to lead the administrative team within Hull's 0–19 Integrated Public Health Nursing Service upon successful completion of a Admin Team Leader apprenticeship.. 

This apprenticeship is designed to support the transition from Band 3 Administrative Assistant to Band 4 Administrative Team Leader. It provides structured learning and practical experience to develop leadership capabilities, operational oversight, and service improvement skills within an administrative setting.

You will work closely with  the Service Manager, Modern Matron and Team Leader, preparing reports, managing diaries, drafting key documents, and supporting performance analysis. Strong communication, organisational excellence, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential to thrive in this role.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

As Admin Team Leader within the Hull 0–19 Integrated Public Health Nursing Service, you’ll lead a dynamic admin team and play a central role in the smooth running of operations. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Daily Coordination & Operational Support:
    Overseeing admin activity across the Single Point of Contact (SPOC), and locality teams, managing referrals and appointments, coordinating meetings, and providing professional diary management for senior leaders.
  • Service Development & Improvement:
    Supporting new initiatives, preparing reports and documents for leadership decisions, and contributing to strategic planning through high-quality data collation.
  • Monitoring & Analysis:
    Collaborating with clinical teams to track service activity and assist in developing performance reports that support continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership & Staff Support:
    Mentoring junior staff, leading inductions, and fostering development opportunities in partnership with the Service leads.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Customer Services or equivalent experience in a wide range of secretarial/administrative/PA role and leading specific projects/information systems
  • Intermediate level of theoretical knowledge
  • Microsoft office applications
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of community procedures and processes
  • Diploma/NVQ 5 in Business Administration/Customer Services
  • Management / leadership qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Delivery of appraisals and supervision
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines and working under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, carers and other agencies
  • Experience of using a range of Microsoft software packages
  • Experience of organising and running an service whilst managing staff
