Job overview

We are looking to appoint  an Administration Assistant Apprentice to work within The Walker Street Centre, covering the Reception connecting both the Inspire Inpatient Unit and Children’s Community Services and providing admin support to the Acute CAMHS services.

We see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on the job experience. You will undertake a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship whilst you work closely with your new team to gain the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for this new role. The duration of this apprenticeship will be 15-18 months and during this time you will be paid the national apprenticeship wage for the first 12 months with an increase to national living wage (23 and over) for the remaining time on your apprenticeship. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will progress into a Band 2 Administration Assistant role.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work in a small pool of admin supporting the Acute CAMHS Services which includes a CAMHS Crisis & Intensive Home Treatment Team, PA, and LAC CAMHS teams.  They will also work on a rota basis covering reception duties and providing delegated admin tasks to support the admin team within the Inspire CAMHS Inpatient teams.

The admin team is expected to predominantly work between 8am to 6pm Mon to Fri although there may be requirements to provide Saturday cover on a rota basis.

The role will include:

  • Responding to telephone enquiries
  • Preparing and editing letters, reports and emails
  • Scanning and photocopying
  • Covering reception when required
  • Managing the room booking system
  • Processing of internal and external post
  • Placing Estates defects onto the electronic system
  • Weekly Fire Alarm Testing
  • Daily security of the community side of the building (closing shutters etc at the end of the day.)

Essential / Desirable

Essential criteria
  • 3 or more GCSE/O levels which must include English and Maths
  • Knowledge and experience of IT systems
