Job overview
The Trust is seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist to join the multi-disciplinary team that makes up the CAMHS team based in Hull. This team works closely with other services in the division that support young people in relation to their mental health and emotional wellbeing. This includes both inpatient and other community teams.
The Hull CAMHS Service is aimed at children and young people aged 0 – 18 years with mental health needs who are registered with a Hull GP, and/or attending a Hull or East Riding school/educational setting.
Main duties of the job
· Assessment of mental health needs
· Evidenced-based mental health interventions
· Consultations to other agencies
· Contribute to assessment of first episode psychosis
· Joint working with other CAMHS services including LAC CAMHS, forensic CAMHS, harmful sexual behaviour, and eating disorders
· Liaising with acute CAMHS to facilitate step-up and step-down care in response to changing or escalating needs.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Applicants should have full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
There is a requirement to have approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) or any other applicable mental health acts, and the work it entails i.e. assessments in community, police custody, 136 suites etc That there will be 2 SPA available in the job plan in order to achieve revalidation requirements for the GMC and meet PDP objectives
The ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.

- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable criteria
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.

Eligibility
Essential criteria
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Completed a minimum of 12 years’ medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification
- A minimum of six years should have been in psychiatry, and three of these within the subcategory of CAMHS psychiatry. These can be within Training/Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’ experience in psychiatry from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.
