Owing to career development within the service, the team at PSYPHER (Early Intervention in Psychosis Service) are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Support Time Recovery (STR) Worker to participate and contribute to excellent standards of quality care for people accessing our service. 

You will be responsible for providing recovery focused interventions for clients living in the community.

You will work within a multi-professional setting to support and assist care co-ordinators to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans for clients on your caseload.

You will aim to establish therapeutic relationships and focus on recovery based goals to enable and empower individuals to access opportunities both within the service and the local community.

 We will support and develop your skills through supervision and professional development.

Previous experience of working within Mental Health Service would be advantageous.

 

Main duties of the job

To provide support to service users who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis or an at risk mental state by instilling hope and promoting recovery. 

To work directly with service users, on an individual and/or group basis.

To assist and support care coordinators and lead professionals to provide treatment and support.

To work across boundaries of care focusing on the specific needs of service users in accordance with their care plans, working in partnership with the individual and their care team.

The post holder will promote independence and assist with daily living skills, signpost into local organisations and develop and encourage engagement within the local community .

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • To have an understanding of mental health or learning disability issues
  • An understanding of confidentiality and Information Governance
  • Standard IT skills e.g. Microsoft office
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of benefit & employment services

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people with who have experienced psychosis or mental illness.
  • Experience of providing recovery focus care in a community setting
  • Awareness of local services and community provision
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of mental health services as a service user or carer
  • Experience with data inputting e.g. electronic clinical record systems

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 in mental health/ learning disabilities or equivalent qualification

Skills and Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of inter-personal skills and the ability to form therapeutic relationships with services users and carers
  • Ability to contribute to MDT working

  • Ability to motivate others
