Job opportunity: Deputy Finance Business Partner
Grade: Band 7
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced accountant to join the Financial Management team sited at Basildon University Hospital, part of a wider Finance Department recently restructured to cover three hospitals in the Mid and South Essex area, We are looking for two enthusiastic, knowledable, organised and talented financial managerment experts to provide key financial management support to large, diverse and complex Clinical Divisions. You need to be passionate about NHS finance and want to use your knowledge and expertise to make a real difference.
As a Deputy Finance Business Partner, you will provide proactive financial support to the relevant Directorates, advising on all aspects of financial management and driving forward business development opportunities and efficiencies.
The post holder will provide advice to senior managers on financial issues for a number of clinical departments. This will involve working with the management teams of the various divisions, assisting in the production of divisions’ financial monthly performance reports, annual financial plans, supporting and monitoring cost improvement programmes and producing financial forecasts and recovery plans as required.
The post holder will also be expected to challenge, influence and advise on the activity of the division in order to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and value for money of the division.
You will be responsible for the producing the month end accounts for the division for oversight by the Finance Business Partner and you will manage the work of the Management Accountant and will be responsible for staff performance management and recruitment for direct report staff. The post holder will also take the lead on their own and their team’s professional development.
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you will be based at the Basildon Hospital site in Essex, and will be CCAB qualified/finalist accountant. Previous NHS experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
