Staff Nurse

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview
You will primarily work as a skilled member of the Cardiology/Cardiothoracic nursing team to assist in the high provision of care to patients and families.
This includes planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of patients care following agreed care pathways.
You will develop and maintain good unit management and organisational skills and assist with the provision of an environment conducive to the education of staff.
Your duties will also include the cleaning, maintenance and safe handling of equipment.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient’s care following agreed care pathways, assisting with the provision of an environment conductive to the education of staff and the cleaning, maintenance and safe handling of equipment.
You will need to be proficient in the care of patient’s pre and post cardiac intervention, including scrub skills for the cardiac catheter lab and sheath removal, demonstrating skills in the care and management of the critically ill patient, working closely with all members of the care team to ensure the needs of the critically ill patient are met.
You will develop and maintain good unit management and organisational skills and assist with the provision of an environment conductive to the education of staff.
