Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Using effective communication techniques you will be able to adequately reassure all patients including those with barriers to understanding, and be able to adapt radiographic technique to produce high quality diagnostic images.
Offer support and reassurance to patients undergoing procedures who are distressed or claustrophobic.
Liaison with colleagues across the Trust to ensure that the flow of patients is well-managed; this will include senior and junior medical staff, clinical colleagues, ward, portering and patient representatives.
Using a variety of techniques, adapting your training / coaching support to students and junior members of staff to maximise training opportunities.

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
