Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.
We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

An exciting opportunity has risen to work within Haematology to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs.
You will provide administrative support to all clinical staff within the clinical area including; consultants, Nurse Specialists and Junior Doctors ensuring effective co-ordination of their diaries etc. this will include cancellation and reinstating of clinics in line with planned and unplanned leave.
Your role is to support the clinical team, Service Manager and other Divisional Managers in ensuring the speciality are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. the 18 weeks Referral to Treatment target and provide cross-cover for other Patient Pathway coordinators to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.

You will support the clinical team, Service Manager and other Divisional managers in ensuring the speciality are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. RTT and cancer and ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.
Good telephone communication skills especially dealing with patients, doctors, nursing and midwifery teams and outside agencies.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above
- ECDL or IT Qualifications
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 4 Higher National Diplomas
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in an administrative healthcare setting
- Understanding and knowledge of key access targets. eg. 18 week RTT
