In April 2020, Mid-Essex Hospital, Southend Hospital and Basildon Hospital merged to create the newly formed Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

As part of the newly formed Trust, the organisation has defined what the future operating model to deliver services to the patients of Mid and South Essex is.

There are 9 Divisions across the three sites.

There is a division on each of the sites which includes local services; these local services include Emergency Care, Integrated SDEC services, and core bed base as well as outpatient services.

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Operations and working closely with the Clinical Director, named clinical leads and matrons you will ensure we deliver high quality services, provide an excellent experience for our patients and meet our regulatory and operational performance targets. Supported by strong senior leadership teams you will seek, share and drive opportunities to deliver high standards of clinical care whilst ensuring delivery of operational, financial and transformational agenda.

Within the local services division the successful candidate will have accountability and responsibility for a broad portfolio and work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

Your ability to engage and lead teams through change and act as an expert negotiator will be vital. You will deliver a selection of productivity schemes and therefore will have strong business management skills coupled with sound financial knowledge. 

You will be intellectually flexible, highly analytical and confident to challenge the status quo while building excellent working relationships that quickly enable you to become a trusted and credible leader across all staff groups. You will be focused on outcomes and motivated by your drive to deliver the highest quality care while ensuring the best possible patient experience.

The successful applicant will possess highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to motivate and build successful teams in a fast paced environment and will deputise for the Deputy Director of Operations for Local services.
