An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Stroke Therapy team at Basildon Hospital.

If you have experience working with patients in a healthcare setting this may be the job for you!

Working alongside the Occupational and Physio Therapists you will be responsible for progressing patients mobility as well as undertaking exercises programmes and occupational therapy specific treatment programmes.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a member the Stroke Specialist MDT.
  • To assist the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist with a range of duties.
  • To provide holistic interventions for patients, often without direct      supervision, working to treatment plans, protocols and accountable at all times to a registered practitioner.
  • To support patient centred rehabilitation in order to facilitate timely, safe transfer of care, reflecting individual choice and maximising individual’s independence.
  • To regularly and accurately input data onto IT systems.
  • To assist the therapy staff with the running of the department and the team including the day to day organisation of duties for assistants in agreement with the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist.
