Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity within our Early Intervention in Psychosis Psychological Services in the mid part of Essex to offer a maternity leave cover role as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CAP depending on experience and applications. The role may also appeal to newly qualified psychologists or trainees who may be delayed in submitting their thesis but looking for a clinical role whilst completing their studies. This is to offer highly specialist clinical skills for clients experiencing a first episode of psychosis, alongside offering supervision, training, and leadership within the team.

We make flexible working work: part time and job-share applications are very much welcome.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to be skilled and experienced in working in the NHS, and alongside multidisciplinary teams with all of the opportunities and challenges which that entails. For applicants looking for a principal role this will ideally include specific experience of supervising psychological services teams in EIP services.  Strong psychological treatment skills and evidence of short and long term work with complex difficulties are essential.  Systemic understanding of team and organisational dynamics or an interest in developing this will be welcomed. Excellent assessment and therapy skills, knowledge of psychometric tools and confidence in making informed professional recommendations on risks and the treatment of service users are essential. Team working ability and skills in training, consultation and supervision and a calm disposition will also be essential.
