Job overview
Working within agreed protocols and standard operating procedures, you will contribute to the analysis of biological samples by receiving, preparing and processing them under the supervision of HCPC‑registered staff. This will include accurately entering patient and test information into the laboratory computer system and carrying out essential supporting duties such as preparing reagents, completing administrative and clerical tasks, and assisting with routine equipment maintenance. You may also be required to take part in out‑of‑hours working, depending on service needs. This role falls under the Trust’s Probationary Policy, and you will be primarily based in the Biochemistry section of Blood Sciences, playing a key role in supporting high‑quality diagnostic services.
Main duties of the job

You will also use the laboratory information system to input patient test requests quickly and accurately, helping manage a high‑volume workload while maintaining excellent standards of data quality.
