Are you a secretary, PA ? Perhaps you work in a role with complex admin, or you have completed further education and looking for a role to get you into Healthcare.

We are looking for a Medical Secretary to join our Urology Department at Broomfield Hospital.

There is a wide range of support for staff covering a broad range of subjects such as child care, health and fitness and mental health, and financially supported schemes for travel such as cycle to work and  discounted bus tickets . We can offer some great flexibility on working hours and working patterns and full training and mentoring is available if required.

What do you need  to have to apply? You need to be enthusiastic and capable, as this is a very fast paced and demanding service. You need to be very well organised, responsive and be able to work on own initiative. Experience in  role where you have developed great keyboard skills and the ability to deal with admin.

Main duties of the job

To ensure cancer referrals are dealt with in a timely manner and pathway managed
Type all clinic dictation /reports/statements/other
To ensure all referrals are triaged in a timely manager
To manage and process advice and guidance requests from GP’s
To ensure all clinics are cancelled to coincide with consultant A/L study days/ professional etc.
Book / cancel outpatient appointments as required. 
Work with junior service manager to reduce long waiters and highlight any bottlenecks within the service which would prevent patients being booked.
Clear the telephone voice mail daily, and take action as required
Any other duties within the role of a Medical Secretary within the grade of your post
