MID ESSEX HOSPITAL SERVICES NHS TRUST (Local ST4+ training post in Paediatrics) Salary ST3+ MT04 £47,132 per annum


In addition to your basic salary you will attract further supplementary pay, for hours worked over 40, a 37% enhancement on ‘night’ hours, as well as an on call availability and weekend allowance.


Applications are invited for a Local training post in Paediatrics to start as soon as possible.   

You will work alongside doctors in training and be offered a similar educational programme with supervision support.    


We anticipate that these posts could be for up to three years, subject to satisfactory assessment and progress with the local training programme.  You will start on a contract, which will have a 3-6 months probationary period, to ensure you are settling into your post and the pace of training is suitable to your development with us.  There will then be a regular annual assessment through the revalidation and appraisal process to review how your training is progressing.

This post will be based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. You will possess excellent communication skills and work in partnership with Consultants and the Community Nursing Team to ensure the children, young people and their families have seamless, planned care to meet their needs. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of in-patients in children’s ward, child short stay assessment bay and babies in the neonatal unit. ST3+ local training post.  You should have full GMC registration and at least 2 years experience at SHO/ST level in General Paediatrics and Neonatal.

There is an active Postgraduate Medical Education centre and single/married accommodation is also available at Broomfield Hospital. Broomfield Hospital is situated in Chelmsford close to the A12 and the major motorway networks, M25 and M11. Local public transport facilities are excellent with buses and a British Rail station is nearby.
