Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

 

Job overview

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team.

If successful you will be part of a team of research nurses, trial practitioners and administrative staff providing a comprehensive clinical trial/research study support service out of the Trust’s award winning R&D Department.

 The role will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants into various research studies including all specialities and the collection and documentation of accurate data. And you will also be a key driver of our recruitment and retention strategies for patients.

 

Main duties of the job

As a research nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and carers participating in research studies in the Trust’s active research portfolio and ensuring good communication with other members of the R&D Department and  East of England Research Delivery Network (RDN) .

The NIHR Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. They operate nationally across England through a national coordinating centre working collaboratively with Research Delivery networks (RDN's) They provide the infrastructure that allows high quality clinical research to take place in the NHS so that patients can benefit from new and better treatments The NIHR Clinical Research Network RDN is part of East of England (EoE).
