Gynaecology Ambulatory Unit Healthcare Support Worker

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview
We are looking for a Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly, multi-disciplinary team in our Gynaecology Ambulatory Unit and work collaboratively to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients.
Working closely with our brilliant nursing team you will be involved in the direct care to meet the needs of the patients in line with our values – excellent, compassionate and respectful – our procedures and uphold the outpatient philosophy.

Main duties of the job
If successful, some of your duties will include:
- Prioritising service delivery within the outpatient setting, acknowledging the impact of the decision on other departments
- Having knowledge of, and act within current Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust Policies and Guidelines
- Being aware of personal responsibilities regarding risk management procedures g. fire, health, and safety
- Promoting a positive departmental image by showing a professional and helpful approach to all visitors to the hospital
- Working with the registered nurse to manage patient care timely and in order of priority depending on the patients’ clinical

Essential criteria

Qualifications

- Good level of general education incl. English and Maths GCSE (grade D/4 or above)
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 or an equivalent qualification
- Basic computer skills
