This is a busy department, receiving a wide range of surgical specimens from the major specialties including upper and lower GI, breast, urology, gynecology, renal, dermatology and plastic surgery, maxillo-facial and ENT, but not specialist lympho-reticular, paediatric pathology or neuropathology. Diagnostic (non-gynae) cytopathology, post-mortems, small and large specimen surgical pathology currently form separate elements of the rota.
