Job overview

A great opportunity to join our Audiology Services.

You will be the first point of contact for our Audiology patients and will work closely with the Clinical Lead for Community Audiology. You will be key to the success of the Triage System.

Please note, this is a fixed term position until 22nd May 2027. Internal candidates will be offered a secondment position only. 

 

Main duties of the job

  • Managing and redirecting referrals and booking first appointments.
  • Liaising with patients, GPs and providers by telephone, email and online systems
  • Respond to routine enquires from patients and GP’s about referral routes, services provided, waiting times and escalating complex enquires to the Clinical Lead for Community Audiology.
  • Continuously monitor processes, suggest solutions to problems and notify Clinical Lead of any recommended service improvements. Be willing to assist in implementing changes.

  • Experience of Administration Duties
  • Working with the public both face to face and on the phone

  • Customer Care Training

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of hospital computerised systems such as Medway, ERS
  • NVQ level 2 in administration/secretarial or equivalent

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Computer Literate including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Multi-disciplinary team work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of deaf awareness and need for adaptive communication
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of British Sign Language
