Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Administrator to join our award-winning Diabetes team in Colchester.
 
This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team helping deliver specialist care to over 27,000 patients across North East Essex. You will provide key administrative support to the clinical team and contribute to the smooth running of the service.
 
This is a fixed term position for 6 months.
 
We offer a structured induction, ongoing support, and a positive working environment. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, reliable, a strong team player, and able to work in a busy setting.
 
Proposed Interview Date:  5th August 2026 

Main duties of the job

· Receive and process Diabetes referrals in line with Trust policy and national waiting time standards.

· Book the **first appointment** in line with clinical guidance or add patient to Education waiting list.

· Ensure referrals are processed within agreed timescales.

· Contact patients by telephone/email/letter to arrange appointments and provide appointment information.

· Identify incomplete referrals and escalate appropriately to ensure delays are avoided.

· Liaise with clinical team to coordinate appointments if needed.

· Support performance improvement via agreed targets and contribute to service development ideas.
