Job overview

We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Department based at Colchester Hospital.

We have full time and part time opportunities available 

You will have proven registered nurse experience in an acute environment, ideally within emergency medicine and have the desire to work with patients who present to the Emergency Department.

We will support you to develop skills in emergency nursing. You can expect to work in a progressive and motivated team who will actively encourage your development in emergency nursing.

Secondment/Fixed term

 30 hours until 08.09.2026 and 37.5 hours until 01.11.2026

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of high standard individualised evidence based patient care and supervising others in delivery of care.

Demonstrating a professional manner and good communication skills in all aspects of your work

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Level 1 or 2, or awaiting results
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
  • Coaching qualification.
  • Willingness to undertake further education, teach junior staff

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Worked within the healthcare setting
  • Experience of delivering evidence based practice
Desirable criteria
  • Undertaken preceptorship
  • Participation in research/audit.
