Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity within our Aseptics Unit for Senior Pharmacy Assistants to support the growth of the department.

You will work as part of a team, within the Aseptic department, providing a high quality, flexible and responsive service. 

You will aseptically prepare injections ready for patient administration, including chemotherapy (cytotoxic), radiopharmaceuticals and general intravenous drugs.

Previous experience of working in a cleanroom environment is desirable, but not essential. 

We are committed to provide a supportive environment with opportunities for training and personal development. In the future there is a possibility for a Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship to enhance career progress.

Consideration will be given for strong candidates who may not meet the essential criteria to undertake this role on a developmental basis with set competency targets. Roles offered on a development basis will be banded lower than originally advertised until competency targets are met.

Main duties of the job

Aseptically manufacture named patient and batch products following procedures and worksheets.

Assist in the supervision of the day-to-day workload within the Aseptic Unit.

Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment supporting the manufacturing process and to assist senior staff in demonstrating particular duties to junior and rotational staff.

  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage workload and staff
  • Ability to work within strict guidelines and follow written procedures (SOP’s)
  • Good communication with all levels of staff, written and spoken English
