Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian (Mental Health & CAMHS) & to join our busy Mental Health Dietetics Service based at North Essex. Our friendly and growing team is ready to welcome new team members who share our passion for improving access and the quality of care for people with Mental Health conditions in MH inpatient units, community settings & CAMHS. The working hours are 37.5hours per week and flexible working can be agreed.
We are looking for dynamic, creative, highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who have a demonstrable interest in working for the Mental Health Dietetics service. The post holder will receive regular professional and management supervision and will be supported to develop skills in this specialist area.
Candidates looking for Band 5 developmental positions will also be taken into consideration.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will take a clinical role in the Mental Health Dietetics team within the EPUT MH Services. They will work as a dietetic practitioner within uni-professional and multi-professional team environments with regular supervision.
They will be working as a part of the integrated team of therapists. To provide specialist assessment and management skills of a dietitian, working with other members of the MDT to provide evidence-based patient-centred care. There will also be the opportunity to provide leadership and supervision to junior staff and students. The post holder will receive regular professional and management supervision and will be supported to develop skills in this specialist area.
The post holder will be required to travel around to other Trust sites and to community.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Using specialist knowledge of mental health and physical functioning, you will provide all aspects of specialist nutritional or dietetic advice, treatment and support to service users taking into account their mental, psychological, emotional and physical needs. You will deliver an age-inclusive service for adults of working age and older adults in mental health services, CAMHS and will provide interventions in accordance with the Trust Eating Disorder Pathways.
You will have responsibility as a specialist practitioner with a high degree of autonomy for planning and delivering treatment of service users on your own caseload. This service will be provided under the supervision of the senior specialist dietitians.
Working as a member of multidisciplinary teams contributing to treatment and speciality care plans, you will act as a source of expertise on dietetic/nutritional management to service users, carers, and other health care professionals in a variety of settings including Trust premises and community locations
You will participate in peer group supervision and support, contribute to the training, supervision and support of other colleagues and students and you may lead clinical audits or undertake research.
As required you may also have some responsibility for the supervision or management of Students, Basic grade dietitians and dietetics assistants within your professional group and team locality. This might include the management of these staff in line with agreed Trust HR processes.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year working shifts where appropriate.
In delivering your duties you are expected to display behaviours that are aligned with the Trust values and as required in accordance with the NHS Constitution at all times.

Education and Qualification
Essential criteria
- HCPC registration
- Experience of working in MH & or CAMHS settings
- Experience of working in Eating disorder service
- Experience of working with young people
- Good understanding of National Policies guiding strategic direction of mental health services
Desirable criteria
- Broad range of Clinical placements
- Experience of working in different aspects of Nutrition and Dietetics
knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience of implementing EBP, both in own practice and within a team.
- Experience of collaborating effectively with service users, their families and carers
- Knowledge of Risk Management and the application of risk assessment
- Ability to travel across sites
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of autonomous practice combined with knowledge of MDT working.
