Adult Health Promotion Project Lead

We are looking for a Adult Health Promotion Lead who will drive the design and delivery of effective health promotion (HP) and behaviour change communication (BCC) interventions for adults across Essex. This role focuses on the needs of seldom-heard communities at increased risk of poor sexual health outcomes, including people of African or Caribbean heritage, sex workers, and gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM).

You will lead a team of Adult Health Promotion Specialists to deliver community engagement and to tackle HIV-related stigma and discrimination while delivering targeted interventions. These initiatives will raise HIV awareness, increase testing, highlight the benefits of early diagnosis, and boost the uptake of broader sexual health services. You will also collaborate with the Youth Health Promotion Project Lead to support interventions for young people.
As a representative of Provide, you will engage directly with local communities and network with professionals, organisations, and stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist the Service Lead with managerial duties, including line management, reporting, and providing service cover during absences.
The post holder must have their own car and a full driver’s licence to be able to fulfil the requirements of this role. This role will require the successful applicant to undergo a DBS check.

- A relevant qualification or substantial experience working in health promotion or supporting people experiencing health inequalities
- Experience of delivering and evaluating health promotion interventions to communities that experience health inequalities including young people
- Knowledgeable about HIV prevention, sexual health, contraception and other health needs of communities at risk of poor sexual health and HIV in the UK
- Experience of managing staff including undertaking staff supervisions and appraisals
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and database entry skills
