Job overview
We are a friendly team of 15 working in Adult and Paediatric Audiology - this role is primarily as an Adult Audiologist, however there are always opportunities for the right candidates to start working in with our paediatric team. We currently have several staff on different HTS Modules in Paediatrics, we train BSc's, MSc's and are also an accredited training department for the STP, offering another potential route for progression in your career.
You will work as a Senior Audiologist seeing a mix of routine and complex adult patients, based across three sites at Epping, Harlow and Bishop's Stortford.
Main duties of the job
- Perform otoscopic examination of the ear canal
- Assess the hearing of adults and children
- Select appropriate hearing aids using Patient Management System considering hearing aid specifications and outcome measures to suit individual patient needs.
- Regularly review patients progress with the hearing aid and analyse need for modification of hearing aid programme and/or further rehabilitation, advice and counseling
- Fit custom made ear plugs for adults and children and instruct patients or their carers on effective use and maintenance
- Recognise when a medical history or test results require onward referral to ENT Medical Staff
- Analyse and interpret diagnostic test results to formulate an individual treatment plan
- Undertake home visits t
- Assist with paediatric audiology and hearing aid clinics
- Perform evening and weekend clinics as required (though we currently do not work evenings or weekends unless overtime is required).
- Supervise and line manage
- Be responsible for the domiciliary including time tabling and organising visits, as well as writing and maintaining protocols. Be able to work independently in people’s homes.

Skills
Essential criteria
- BSc or MSc in Audiology
- HCPC or AHCS Registration
- CPD Evidence within 1 year
- Experience with difficult and challenging situations
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Have wide knowledge and experience of NHS networks/referral routes.
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Scientist Registration
- BSL Level 1 or above
- Electrophysiological Testing experience
- Experience with mentoring and training
Skills

- Strong Communication skills
