Job overview
The successful candidate will be a member of the multidisciplinary team, working in a fast pace community urgent care pathway offering a community response to those experiencing a mental health crisis.
As an senior mental health practitioner, you will work within a fast paced urgent community care pathway offering an urgent and crisis response to those experiencing mental distress within the Community.
Main duties of the job
You will conduct initial CPA assessments, agree and develop collaborative care plans underpinned by NICE guidance delivering a range of interventions based upon individual needs. You will be working within West Essex area over a 24 hour period and the assessments and interventions will take place in patients’ homes, team bases, hospital and other community settings or via tele-coaching.
As required by your line manager, you will have responsibility for the day to day supervision and management of lower band staff within your team.
You will be expected to work collaboratively with key partner organisations, patients, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7- day a week service over a twenty four hour period.

What is Staff Bank?
Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role will be working on a 12 hour shift pattern and is eligible for unsocial hour payments of time plus 30% on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8 pm and before 6 am and time plus 60% on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) enhancement on Sundays and bank holidays as well as your normal rate.
This post also attracts a 5% fringe supplement of the basic salary and receives a generous pension and holiday package.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration (Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker) Mentorship preparation
- Evidence of continual professional development
Knowledge

- Proven experience of working in a health, social care or community setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
