Trosolwg o'r swydd

This role will involve the diagnosis and management of paediatric and adult ocular motility patients. Including patients from the Emergency Eye clinic, Maxillofacial and Neurology. This post offers an excellent opportunity to develop into extended roles. You will be taking an extended role in subspecialty within ophthalmology and will be fully supported using the new OCCCF by internal consultants and management.

  • To teach and train junior staff, GP's, nursing team, doctors, MDT and audit trainings
  • Opportunity to be student supervisor/clinical tutor
  • Orthoptic extended roles: paediatric, complex ocular motility, neuro-ophthalmology with goldmann assessment, pre and post-op assessments, assisting in squint surgery under supervision of Paediatric consultants, independent specialist clinics.  
  • Extended role in specialties such as neuro-ophthalmology, medical retina, glaucoma, eye emergency etc using the OCCCF/OPT programme and competencies 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

This is a part-time role at 31 hours per week permanent role

Main duties will include providing Orthoptic services as an autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing and managing patients referred to the Orthoptic Department with evidence based practice, determining clinical diagnoses and developing management plans, and walking patients through discharge plans.

If successful, the post holder will form part of the clinical team providing a full range of Orthoptic care to patients.
