The Trust operates and relies on everyone treating each other with dignity and respect, to receive equitable and fair treatment in the implementation of Policies, Procedures and in its Practices, to foster positive work relationships, and finally to act with integrity as a professional within ESNEFT as well as a representative of the NHS as a whole. The EDI Agenda reflects the Trust values such as Optimistic, Appreciative and Kind. In line with the NHS Long Term Plan, People Plan, People Promise and a Model Employer intrinsic in the Equality Diversity and Inclusion Agenda, we consistently strive to improve, to take the learning into Action for a better ESNEFT.
If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge then we are keen to hear from you.
Job overview
The National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR), formerly known as TARN, has worked in partnership with NHS Trusts across England and Wales for over 20 years to improve trauma care and emergency healthcare systems. Through the collection and analysis of data from more than 250,000 injured patients, the registry provides a robust evidence base for clinical audit, service evaluation, and continuous improvement in trauma care. NMTR also produces regular comparative performance reports for participating hospitals, helping to drive improvements in patient outcomes.
You should be highly organised and detail-oriented in the ability to submit major trauma data to the NMTR.
You should possess excellent attention to detail, strong IT and data management skills, and the ability to work effectively to deadlines and performance targets while demonstrating our Trust values. Previous experience or knowledge of Emergency Departments, trauma services, or clinical data collection would be advantageous, although full training and support will be provided.
Proposed Interview date: 2nd September 2026
Main duties of the job
You will play an active role in clinical audit projects within the Emergency Department, contributing to service development and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
You will manage data through the NMTR electronic reporting system, ensuring high standards of data quality and compliance.
You will be responsible for the timely, accurate, and reliable collection and submission of patient data, including patients admitted to the Trust and those transferred to other organisations for ongoing trauma care.
