Job overview
Our friendly and growing team is ready to welcome a new team member who will share our passion for improving access and the quality of care for people with eating disorders.
We are looking for a dynamic, creative, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who has a demonstrable interest in working with clients suffering with an eating disorder. You will receive regular professional and management supervision and will be supported to develop skills in this specialist area. Initially you would be able to work closely alongside a more experienced member of staff to support you to develop skills and gain confidence if eating disorders is a new field for you.
Main duties of the job
You will join a rapidly developing service that will provide excellent learning and development opportunities to the successful candidate. Working as part of a growing multidisciplinary team, you will provide community and where appropriate, day care treatment to patients with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, and you will also support the roll out of the early intervention pathway within the service and our new medical monitoring pathway.
- Inform the Ward Sister/Ward Charge Nurse on all breaches of nursing professional conduct, as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct
- Have a sound knowledge/understanding of the legislation as part of the role of the Registered Mental Health Nurse, including Mental Health Act 1983, Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, Access to Information Act 1991, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and CPA.
- In association with Anglia Ruskin University and University of Essex, ensure the learning environment for all nurses in training is appropriate and that teaching areas comply with all N.M.C. Regulations.
- Ensure that clinical practice is evidence-based wherever possible and participate in research and audit
- Following any complaint / accident of serious incident ensure that appropriate documentation is fully completed in line with Trust Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse or Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc/MSc)
- NMC or HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
- Other relevant qualifications e.g. counselling, CBT etc.
- Member of BAOT
Skills / Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of co-ordinating care for a group of patients
- Evidence of working within a multi-disciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- NHS Experience
- Experience working with people with Eating Disorders
