Job overview

At Havens Hospices, we have an excellent opportunity for a skilled writer and relationship-builder to play a key role in funding specialist care that changes lives.

As our Trusts and Grants Fundraising Officer, you will support the charity’s Fundraising Team in developing and submitting high-quality funding applications to charitable trusts and foundations, whilst managing our portfolio of funders.

We welcome applications from recent graduates who hold the legal right to work in the UK. Please note that the hospice is unable to offer any visa sponsorship options.

Although there may be options for some remote working after the completion of probation, there is a requirement that candidates be able to attend the offices located at our hospice sites.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will take the lead in developing and submitting high-quality, tailored funding proposals to charitable trusts and foundations, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s Fundraising Strategy. You'll manage and nurture a portfolio of existing funders through strong stewardship, timely reporting, and meaningful relationship-building.

Alongside this, you will carry out prospect research to identify and qualify new funding opportunities, helping to expand our supporter base. Accurate record-keeping is essential, and you will maintain up-to-date records of funder activity and prospects using Raiser’s Edge.

As a collaborative team member, you'll contribute to overall team targets and planning processes, working closely with colleagues across fundraising teams to share insights and identify cross-team funding opportunities.

Working for our organisation

At Havens Hospices, we care for children, young people and adults with complex or incurable conditions. Our specialist Care Teams can support them and their family living throughout illness, death and bereavement in the comfort of their own home and through our hospice services, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Working at Havens Hospices allows you to give the gift of time to patients and families, creating memories. Although you may not be giving direct care to our patients, your contribution will have an immediate effect on our care services.

In return for your expertise and passion, you will receive a competitive salary package, and most of all, by making the most of every day you work at Havens Hospices you’ll be helping us continue ‘Making every day count’ for those who need us most.
