Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Administrative Assistant – Ophthalmology
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Ophthalmology Department within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic entry point for anyone looking to start or grow a career in NHS administration.
The role sits within our friendly and supportive administrative team and offers the chance to work across the Ophthalmology service at MSE. We are also open to considering job share arrangements, providing flexibility to suit different circumstances.

Main duties of the job
Answering telephone and face to face queries.
Booking new and follow up appointment using EPR.
Recording clinic outcomes.
Filing and scanning duties.
Understanding 18-week pathways.
Booking patient transport, liaise with portering and ambulance teams.
Review all patient demographics when speaking to them, to ensure EPR is up to date.
Ensuring the patients up to date contact numbers, address and GP details are to date.
To ensure all post is sent out in a timely fashion.
