Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.
Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Are you highly organised, friendly, and passionate about delivering excellent patient care? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Emergency Department Reception Team.
In this varied and vital role, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients, providing essential clerical and administrative support. From handling telephone enquiries and greeting patients at reception, to booking and managing appointments, you’ll play a key part in ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.

Main duties of the job
Undertake registration procedures, using the Careflow system, on patients presenting to the department
Liaise with medical/nursing staff regarding patient priority
Answer and resolve enquiries from patients and relatives presenting to the department
Obtain unit folders as and when required from medical records
Retrieve hospital numbers and patient information from Careflow
Answer and resolve telephone enquiries efficiently and politely
Ensure that discharge letters have been requested for all patients who have attended the department
Collate discharge letters to be sent to the GP surgeries
Gather patient notes which may be required for departmental clinics
Carry out filing and document imaging of patient records and miscellaneous documents
Photocopying patient records and documents, as required
