Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Job overview
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation trust have an exciting opportunity within the HR Business Partnering Service as Human Resources for a Associate Business Partner based at our Southend site.
The role is to support the HR Business Partnering Service to provide comprehensive Human Resource (HR) support. The role includes resourcing, organisational change, employee relations (ER) and terms and conditions of employment. The role will support the forward planning, modernisation and performance of the workforce.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Business Partners to assist the Site and the Workforce Division in achieving workforce key performance indicators (KPI’s). The role includes involvement in the design and delivery of training and development interventions in conjunction with other workforce colleagues to help increase management capability within the Division and supporting strategies to improve target achievement where needed.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role is responsible for ensuring professional customer focused HR advice and coaching support is provided and will support on designated Trust-wide HR developments as agreed with the HR Business Partner and Associate Director of HR. The post holder will deputise for the HR Business Partner as required.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to masters / degree level or equivalent experience
- Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) member
- CIPD Level 5 member
Desirable criteria
- Additional HR qualification
- Working towards level 7 CIPD qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Employee relations experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse organisation
- Experience of operating effectively in a customer facing environment
- In depth knowledge of employment legislation and understanding of the risks of non-compliance
- Experience of supporting effective organisational change initiatives, including Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment).
- Knowledge and experience of working with HR Business Partner model
- Able to advise managers on case management issues related to terms and conditions, discipline, capability, grievance or change management
Desirable criteria
- Experience of workforce planning to support divisional strategies
- Experience of advising managers on complex and serious individual and/or collective conflict situations including disciplinary, capability and grievance issues
- Experience of working in a multi -unionised environment
Communication Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prepare and produce concise, insightful communications for dissemination to internal and external stakeholders
