Deputy Team Leader - Practice Education, Theatres

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

 

Job overview

Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Deputy Team Leader - Practice Education, Theatres,

You will assist and support the practice education team in theatres in the facilitation and provision of education and training of all groups of the multidisciplinary theatre team in order to provide high standards of clinical practice and patient care. 

Working collaboratively with the theatre manager and matron, as well as the practice education team leader, the postholder will help develop and deliver education strategies, encourage effective utilisation of resources and develop relations with the across site practice education team to develop and maintain a standard training programme.

Main duties of the job

You must be an expert in theatres with high standards and excellent clinical skills with the ability to teach these skills to other staff.

You will have a passion for teaching and maintaining high standards, recognising where intervention is required. They will assist in the promotion and implementation of evidence based practice. 

Good communication skills are required and excellent people skills for high stress situations when they arise.

Deputisation for the team leader will be required.

There will be participation in clinical duties, working alongside learners in order to maintain own clinical skills and to monitor/audit the competencies of other staff.
