Job overview

This secondment is an opportunity to work in an area of Oncology where we treat patients coming into the Department for all areas of Oncology treatments

The successful candidate will be trained by our bespoke Practice Development team to enable you to administer supportive SACT treatments for our patients, or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapies' if you are skilled to do so

This is a very varied role, and offering a wide level of learning

Main duties of the job

Communication and interpersonal skills

Nursing practice and decision making

−      assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the nursing care of patients in accordance with UK law, the NMC code of conduct and the Trust values

−      deliver high quality essential care to all persons in their care;

−      act to protect the public, and be responsible and accountable for safe, person-centred, evidence- based nursing practice;

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will require appropriate general experience as a trained Nurse

Preferred SACT trained but non SACT trained considered 

Cannulation

Phlebotomy

Administration of Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapies

Scalp cooling

SACT injections
