Job overview
A vacancy has arisen for a part time Clerical Officer/Receptionist to join our extremely busy yet friendly, patient focused admin and reception team.
The post holder will be expected to work 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, typically Wednesday to Friday but with some flexibility to work different days as the service needs.
The post holder will be working in the Oncology admin team based at the Oncology Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital.
The role will involve:
Reception duties in both Oncology and Linc outpatient receptions - working within 8am – 6pm shift pattern.
Clerical duties in our General Office and Clinic Prep teams
Assisting with admin duties within our secretarial teams as required.
Main duties of the job
Reception duties, meeting and greeting patients with a warm and welcoming attitude.
Registering patients; Data entry tasks; Filing notes; Pulling clinic notes;
Archiving of hospital notes; Scanning and uploading documents into clinical systems, and various other admin tasks.
You will be trained in all aspects of the role so no previous experience is required, however an aptitude to learn new skills and understand complex processes is essential.
As you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors when working on reception therefore you should possess a warm and welcoming manner.

Our friendly and hardworking reception team support the Outpatient Services in the Oncology & Haematology for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The Oncology Department admin team is made up of Clerical Officer/Receptionists, Clerical Officers, Medical Secretaries, Booking Services who work as a team to support a large and busy cohort of clinical staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To provide friendly and professional administration support to two reception desks across the Oncology and Haematology Departments.
To provide administration and clerical support within the service line as necessary and under the day-to-day supervision of the Lead Receptionist/Supervisors.
This role requires flexibility to enable appropriate cover across the service line as required. A requirement to work various shifts between 8am – 6pm is expected.
