We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative thinker to join the diagnostic radiology team here at GHNHSFT as a supervisor to our dedicated team of radiology care assistants who are integral to the success of the Radiology Departments ambitions. .
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering highly skilled patient focused care, acting as an advocate for patient safety and excellent experiences within the trust whilst providing essential support, guidance and leadership to an expanding team of Radiology Care Assistants.
Main duties of the job
- Supervision of a team of RCAs providing essential support ensuring high quality, efficient and responsive care is provided
- Work alongside the Superintendent Radiographers to develop staff
- Identify training needs of self and others and assist in the planning and delivery of the departmental education programme.
- Active involvement in the practical, theoretical and clinical instruction, training and assessment of RCAs
- Mentor for newly qualified/training staff and the team
- Manage/motivate team and available as a source of advice and leadership
- Cope with multiple demands during the day.
- First point of contact for the RCAs
- Create a culture or positivity and collaborative working ensuring diversities and inequalities are understood and supported
- Lead team across two acute hospital sites and community locations, ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained in each area
- Maintaining frequent contact with team to ensure efficient working, resolve any queries/problems accordingly. Organize team workload to maximize productivity
- Work as a supportive, respectful and motivating supervisor ensuring confidence and competence in their roles and day-to-day activity
- Daily Healthroster updates/finalizations of shifts
- Undertake appraisals/1:2:1s on a regular basis, ensuring mandatory training records are maintained
- Be involved in the resolution of sickness absence, performance and disciplinary concern

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- English and Maths at GCSE Grade C or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Acts as a role model and able to lead by example to ensure Trust’s values and behaviours are reinforced throughout their area of practice.
- Professional leadership qualities, assertive and self-confident individual
- Able to supervise and manage those staff under line management
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate
- Resilient under pressure
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate all staff within sphere of responsibility
- Proficient in the use of Basic IT systems i.e MS word
- Work well both in a team and independently
- Maintain a high standard of patient care and professional conduct
- Be able to participate in provision of 7 day working week 24 hours per day

Desirable criteria
- Previous healthcare Experience
- Leadership Experience
- Experience of Radiology Appointments, CRIS or the Trak Care patient system.
