An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried General Practitioner to join the team at Hwb Iechyd Cybi on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.
Hwb Iechyd Cybi is a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary primary care hub based in Holyhead, serving a diverse and vibrant community in Anglesey. As part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s managed practices portfolio, the practice benefits from a supportive organisational structure, innovative service models, and a strong emphasis on team-based care.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient-centred GP who is committed to delivering high-quality, accessible care and who thrives in a collaborative working environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a well-supported managed practice, with access to a wide range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Provide high-quality, safe, and effective primary care services to the registered patient population
- Undertake routine and urgent consultations, delivered face-to-face, via telephone, and digitally as appropriate
- Manage a diverse clinical caseload, including acute presentations, chronic disease management, and preventative care
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, and Care Coordinators
- Contribute to continuity of care and patient experience through proactive clinical management and follow-up
- Participate in practice meetings, clinical governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support the development of innovative models of care within a managed practice setting
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records in line with organisational and professional standards
The role may also include opportunities to:
- Contribute to teaching and supervision (where appropriate)
- Engage in service development aligned with “Care Closer to Home” principles
- Support population health management and preventative care initiative

Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise and entry on the GP Register
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice / Certificate Confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR), or equivalent
- Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible for inclusion
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
- Academic excellence (prizes, merits, distinctions etc.)
- MRCGP
- Other relevant specialist interests & skills
Experience
Essential criteria
- Vocational GP training
- Experience in general practice and working in multi-disciplinary team

- Eligibility for minor surgery, obstetrics, family planning accreditation

- Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload and respond flexibly to workload fluctuations
- Ability to take independent clinical decisions when necessary and to seek advice from senior doctors as appropriate
