Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Clinical Fellow within the Rheumatology Department based in the Peter Maddison Rheumatology Centre in Llandudno Hospital and is suitable for doctors who have completed IMT training.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for career progression and development. There will be opportunities to develop a number of skills depending on preference: teamwork, leadership, clinical, teaching and research. The appointee will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic Multidisciplinary Team.
The applicant will be welcomed by those working in the department, with every encouragement to develop their own sub-specialty interests, innovations and research projects. The post-holder will work with the established staff, to establish a pre-eminent service with its own distinctive identity within the Department
Main duties of the job
The appointee will support with work in outpatients, with inpatients, and will support with supervising and training speciality trainees and Allied Health/Medical Associate professionals.
The post also offers a unique opportunity to develop a research project with protected time to complete.
There is no out of hours on call commitment associated with these posts.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Current ALS certificate
- Minimum 2 years experience at CT level in General Medicine
- Clinical Knowledge and skills expected of a doctor at the end of CMT training – assessed at interview
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Rheumatology
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice
- MRCP Part 1
Desirable criteria
- MRCP part 2
Other Qualities
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of research/presentations/publications in an area of interest
