Job overview

Are you dedicated to providing outstanding CT imaging services to patients? Are you ready to be part of a team where innovation is most welcome? Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital have such an opportunity for you in our CT department. The department has dedicated specialist lists which include CT colonography, cardiac, angiograms and interventional radiology procedures. The CTC list is radiographer led with a CTC reporting radiographer.

We have recently been through a departmental refurbishment and installation of 3 new state of the art Canon CT scanners as part of the Radiology Managed Service contract.

Main duties of the job

HHFT supports specialist services for rare and complex illnesses for patients from across the UK, including liver cancer, colorectal cancer and pseudomyxoma peritonei. We undertake a wide variety of CT imaging examinations to complement these specialities including body imaging, CT colonography and Cardiac CT. We also perform a wide range of vascular, oncological, MSK, trauma and neurological studies.

Therefore, with the expansion of Radiology services over the next few years and enhanced scope of practice available, this is an ideal opportunity to expand your portfolio.

We welcome applications from experienced CT radiographers with effective leadership skills who have a proactive approach to providing outstanding care for every patient. Ideal candidates will be a well organised team player with great clinical knowledge, good communication skills, with the ability to prioritise ever-changing worklists. Excellent working knowledge of CT and patient safety is essential with the ability to participate in our extended day and weekend service.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • IV Cannulation/Drug administration Certificate
  • Post graduate training

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • NHS radiographic experience
  • Evidence of mandatory training
  • Sound clinical knowledge
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R
Desirable criteria
  • NHS CT
  • Knowledge of current NHS policies/guideline
  • PACS and RIS experience
  • Previous additional responsibilities
