 We are seeking an exceptional nursing leader to take on the pivotal role of Lead Nurse for Unscheduled Care Services (USC) at Hampshire Hospitals.

 As a key member of the USC leadership team, this is an exciting opportunity to drive transformation across services and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. The post holder will play a central role in shaping the future of unscheduled care, providing strong, visible leadership that inspires and energises teams while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

 This is a critical leadership position, responsible for influencing the delivery of care across frontline services. You will provide strategic vision, senior clinical leadership, and operational oversight, alongside professional guidance to support safe, effective, and compassionate care.

 The role is instrumental in developing a workforce that is skilled, resilient, and fit for the future, ensuring services continue to meet the evolving needs of our patients and communities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers through collaborative and inspiring leadership. The Lead Nurse will facilitate a broad team approach, communicate effectively and deliver on the annual divisional strategic objectives.

  To be able to demonstrate good current knowledge in the area and be proactive in relation to external regulatory standards, such as Care  Quality Commission and current best practice in urgent and emergency care.

  The post holder will work closely with the Head of Unscheduled Care and Clinical Director to ensure that urgent and emergency services within their area of responsibility fulfil their agreed objectives, quality standards and achieve regulatory, statutory and constitutional targets.
