Job overview

The Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust Prostate Cancer Team are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 or Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our urology oncology team, providing expert care to men with advanced and metastatic prostate cancer.


This is a highly autonomous role, managing a large and complex caseload and delivering holistic, patient centred care across the prostate cancer pathway. The post holder will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team while functioning as a key point of contact for patients, families, and professionals.

Main duties of the job

Alongside the consultant clinical oncologist, the post holder will provide evidence-based, specialist nursing care to patients with advanced and metastatic prostate cancer across Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust. This will include assessment, treatment, symptom management, and survivorship support across Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust
Independently manage a caseload, demonstrating autonomous clinical decision making 


Deliver nurse led clinics, including non medical prescribing, treatment reviews, and toxicity management.  Education, support and training will be provided to achieve prescribing qualification if not already held.
 Act as a key worker, offering holistic support encompassing physical, psychological, social, and supportive care needs.


Work collaboratively within the MDT to coordinate care, escalate concerns, and support treatment planning 


Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives 
Provide education and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
