Job overview
The post holder will be the modality lead for the Interventional service at Basingstoke North Hampshire Hospital, working with a team of consultants, radiographers, radiography department assistants and administrative staff to provide exemplary patient care and an effective, high-quality service.
The post holder will provide specialist advice regarding Interventional Radiography, will be involved in quality management and governance, management of a small team and have clinical duties to ensure effective operation of the department.
The post holder will be based at BNHH.
Main duties of the job
· To be responsible for leading the Interventional service at Basingstoke North Hampshire Hospital.
· To promote excellence in the Interventional service and to provide specialist knowledge and expert advice regarding Interventional Radiography.
· To operationally manage the Interventional service including line management of staff.
· To undertake a wide range of Interventional procedures.
· Assess and prioritise the workload including day to day running, ordering and dispensing.
· Comply with Interventional physics requirements in relation to IR(ME)R, IRR 17 and attend medical physics meetings as and when required.
· To produce modality reports for Clinical Governance and ORPG.
· Be responsible for the Local Rules, SOP’s, record keeping, waste, Infection control and training records and compliance.

- Degree in Radiography or equivalent
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate qualification in leadership and management
- IV Training and competence
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Evidence of enhanced specialist knowledge in interventional procedures and equipment
- Evidence of extensive IR imaging
- Previous NHS experience
- Appropriate clinical leadership experience
