Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the medicine division on the Isolation ward, we are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated nurse to join our small team.

The Isolation ward is a 7 bedded inpatient isolation unit, consisting entirely of all side rooms designed to care for patients who require infection prevention and control measures. Our aim is to delivery high quality and patient-centred nursing care to patients who is admitted with suspected or confirmed infectious illnesses.

You must possess a good fundamental knowledge about admission and discharge process, infection prevention and control measures, and a background on general medical patients,

You must also have an experience in coordinating a busy ward and be highly motivated and have genuine passion to provide high quality patient care. You must be an experienced nurse with appropriate clinical expertise to enable you to support the provision of safe, kind, excellent care.

Main duties of the job

You will provide a high standard of individualised and compassionate nursing care in accordance with agreed policies, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for individual patients.

You will:

Provide direct patient care, such as administering medications, conducting assessments, and providing support and education to patients and their families.

Monitor patients’ health and wellbeing, and reporting any changes or concerns to senior staff or doctors.

Participate in clinical audits and other quality improvement initiatives to help ensure that care is delivered in accordance with best practices and national guidelines.

Provide support and guidance to junior staff, such as student nurses or health care assistants

Manage a caseload of patients, including coordinating care with other members of the health care team and ensuring that patients’ needs are met in a timely and appropriate manner.

You will work a range of shifts, covering the needs of the ward across a 24 hour period, to include night duty.

Essential criteria
  • Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • Professional UK registration e.g. NMC, HPC

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profil
  • Completed clinical placements in a variety of areas
  • Multidisciplinary team working
  • Understanding of Health Environment policies and legislation including Clinical, HR, E&D, Governance
  • Adherence to current statutory requirements, standards and regulations
