Job overview

The Sterile Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Sterile Services Department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant decontamination of medical devices. The role provides operational leadership, supports and develops staff, and ensures adherence to national standards, policies, and quality systems. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining service continuity, resolving issues promptly, and supporting high standards of patient safety and customer service.

Main duties of the job

Oversee the day-to-day running of the Sterile Services Department, supervising staff and managing workflow to ensure timely, safe, and compliant decontamination of medical devices. Support and train team members, maintain equipment and records, and ensure adherence to national standards, health and safety, and infection control policies. Act as a first point of contact for problem-solving and help drive service improvements.
