Job overview

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a  vacancy for a Senior  Clinical Fellow in Surgery at the Royal Hampshire County  Hospital. This post is designed to support both emergency and elective services.

The elective components of the post are flexible and can be tailored to fit the needs of candidates to support their own interests within the full spectrum of general surgery, 

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties expected on the wards include the requesting and monitoring of diagnostics, 

Allocated academic project and supervisor for the duration of the post

Out of hours cover

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MRCS or equivalent essential
  • GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • 1 Year minimum working in the NHS in general surgery
  • Basic Life Support
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continuing professional updating
  • Higher Degree
  • Awards/Distinctions
  • Advanced Life Support

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of safe, sound clinical practices
  • Experience in general surgery
Desirable criteria
  • Appropriate Specialty Experience
  • Experience of publications and presentations
  • Experience in vascular surgery

Skills and Ability

Essential criteria
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Evidence of surgical experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in research and audit
