Job overview
As a member of the Outpatients pharmacy team, you will contribute to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services; issuing prescriptions, giving advice where appropriate, working alongside Outpatient Pharmacy team to ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal and relevant operational parameters including stock asset management, in addition to the departmental procedures to meet the needs of our customers. |
Main duties of the job
• To oversee Outpatient Pharmacies stock asset management including accuracy of stock levels, placing orders and receive deliveries • To assist in the safe and economic usage, supply and distribution of drugs, using guidance laid down by legislation and within the hospital formulary to help the Trust (our parent company) meet its core objectives. • To actively participate in Risk Management within the department and Trust. • To undertake stock checks and return unused items, with a view to cost savings • To lead, deliver, and evaluate the procurement and invoicing sections within the HHCS Pharmacy Business Unit to both internal and external customers. • To run monthly reports on the Pharmacy stock control computer system. • Implementing the Trust’s response to Medicine Recalls received during working hours. • Ensuring drug wastage through expiration is monitored and kept to absolute minimum. • To collect data for internal and external audits of dispensing, supply and procurement to provide good quality assurance and adherence to trust standing financial instructions. • Adding new products and presentations to the Pharmacy stock control computer system. • To ensure temperature monitoring is within range for the storage of pharmaceuticals by using the automated temperature monitoring system |
