Job overview
· To work with the multi-disciplinary stroke team in the implementation and progression of stroke rehabilitation programmes.
· To enable patients to achieve their optimum level of independence in mobility and activities of daily living.
· To be primarily responsible for the continuation of rehabilitation programmes during weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
· The post holder will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with specified duties and to take responsibility for planning his/her own work duties.
Main duties of the job
- Post stroke cognitive assessment.
- Assessment of functional ADL (activities of daily living).
- Ordering of equipment to facilitate timely discharge from stroke unit.
- Provide evidence based intensive stroke rehabilitation in the inpatient setting to improve patient outcomes.
- Run group therapy classes on the stroke unit.
